Live and Learn

So after a week has been over in this challenge for the 21 day fix Beach Body Challenge... and while amazingly having some pretty wild results... I have learned one very important thing. Step 1 is always believing in yourself, step 2 is trying your hardest, and step 3... the most important step.. is loving yourself no matter what.
No matter what the measurements say. No matter what the scale says. No matter how many days or meals you accidentally messed up on. None of it matters.... And on the flip side of that same coin. If you do everything right and lose the weight and inches but you still can't look in the mirror at your own reflection at the end of the day, you have failed to see the point.

self-love
noun
  1. regard for one's own well-being and happiness (chiefly considered as a desirable rather than narcissistic characteristic).

I work my butt off both at work and at home to try to make a great life for my daughter and for myself and I never give my self credit for what I've done. I always point out the things that I didn't get to before acknowledging my accomplishments for that day. This is a terrible habit that needs to be broken NOW!

The day after my 17th birthday, I lost my Granddad. At his funeral, we went through all kinds of different emotions and it was exhausting. But one thing that I remember the most from that day (aside from the funeral home totally rockin' the bass on some good ol' Danny Boy during the viewing) was something on the back of the program for the service. My mom and her siblings had made sure it was included because it was a poem that he lived by. This poem is called The Man In The Glass:

I honestly believe he was onto something with this. No matter what you do through your day, miss a workout, have too much junk food, whatever. As long as it is done with your maximum effort, that is what you truly need.

And since it's Monday and since I can, I challenge you to write down one positive thing every day on a piece of paper.Keep it in your wallet in a drawer at work, where ever you'll have it with you. Then when you are having a bad day, pick one or two out and read them.

Keep up the good work.... and don't forget to stay positive!!!
